A man is being treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries after their car went over the cliff at Marine Drive.
A full emergency response involving police, fire, ambulance and Coastguard was mobilised after multiple calls to 999 were made by members of the public.
The call-out to a section of Marine Drive at Keristal came at about 3.50pm yesterday (Sunday).
Police confirmed a Toyota Yaris had left the road and landed at the bottom of the cliff.
A Fire and Rescue line rescue team worked alongside the Coastguard to set up a system to transport lifesaving personnel and equipment to crash site.
A Coastguard rescue helicopter was scrambled to extract the casualty and transfer him to Noble’s Hospital.
Police confirmed a 48-year-old man is being treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
There were no other passengers in the Toyota and no other vehicles involved.
No further information has been released about the cause of the crash.
