A man was rescued from Douglas marina last night (Friday) after he fell in while boarding his yacht.
Douglas Coastguard, fire crews, the police and paramedics were all called to the scene at about 9.45pm.
In a statement, Douglas Coastguard said:’The man had fallen while boarding his yacht and had become unable to get back out.
’Douglas Coastguard put two men into the water in dry suits to help comfort and keep him afloat also assisting in getting him into our basket stretcher when the Fire Service lowered it to us using their hydraulic platform.
’As soon as the casualty was in the stretcher he was elevated to the waiting paramedics for transfer to hospital while the police attended to keeping the public at a safe distance.’
