Round three of Isle of Man Clay Pigeon Shooting Club’s Colin Bowen Memorial English skeet league was held at Meary Veg on Sunday.
The event saw a field of 20 competitors taking part in dry but difficult light conditions in Santon and shooters also had the added incentive of the Wilf Cannell Handicap Cup being up for grabs.
The joint leaders after the first round were Rachael Bowen-Matthews and trap shooter Mark Riley with 25 straights, while in third place on 24 was Brian Faragher.
Stan Cross was next on 23 followed by Peter Kelly, Dave Corlett, Irene Stockil and Giulio Fabrizio all on 22.
After the second round, Barry Jones was third in C class on 29, with Steven Rand taking second on 35 but winning C class with 40 was junior shooter Zac Bellhouse.
There was a four-way tie for first place in B class with Kelly, Faragher, Mike Walker and female shooter Stockil all tying on 44.
There was also a tie for third place in A class between Paul Mihailovits and Corlett on 45, in second place on 46 was Riley but the star of the day and taking A class with a 50 straight was Bowen-Matthews.
In the handicap section for the Wilf Cannell Handicap Cup, the runaway winner with 60 points was junior shooter Zac Bellhouse.
A group of 15 shooters carried on to complete a 100 targets and the winner with 95 points was again Bowen-Matthews. In second on 94 was Riley with John Moore and Mihailovits joint third on 91.

This Sunday is the fourth round of the Pam and Dave Corlett Pro Sporting League in the morning followed by the fourth round of the Suntera Sporting League in the afternoon.
