Two big names from the heady days of 90s Britpop will return for the Isle of Man for two nights of concerts this weekend.

Nigel Clark, the singer and front man from the group Dodgy, and Chris Helme, the lead singer from The Seahorses, will play live at the Colby Glen pub on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 October.

Both artists are becoming familiar faces over here, with both Nigel and Chris playing in the intimate setting of the Colby Glen during 2019.

Singing with the Seahorses, formed by the former Stone Roses guitarist John Squier, Chris scored hits in the late 90s with songs such as ’Blinded by the Sun’ , ’I Want You to Know’ and their most famous song ’Love is the Law’.

Dodgy scored many memorable hits across the decade with songs, such as ’Good Enough’, ’Staying Out for the Summer’ and ’In a Room’.

’We are very excited to be welcoming Chris and Nigel back to the Colby Glen, who are firm favourites with our audience,’ said Rob Cope from But First Promotions.

’They both individually play a set of hit songs from The Seahorses and Dodgy, plus their own solo material and a few covers thrown in and this time they’ll even play a few numbers together. They both love coming to the Island, and we love having them here.

’After a very difficult year for the artists, Pam and I are delighted to have the gigs back up and running again.

’We pride ourselves on bringing the very best in talent from the UK and the Isle of Man to perform for us.

’In respect of Covid mitigation, the venue will be well ventilated, hand sanitizer is available and if you feel comfortable wearing a mask please do so.’

Tickets are £26.50, available by emailing [email protected]

The next date for But First Promotions at the Colby Glen will be two nights by the Magic Numbers front man Romeo Stodart on Friday and Saturday, November 12 and 13.

Support for that night will be from the local group Truman Falls.
