Union Mills Rainbows and Brownies entertained family and friends at their annual Maypole dancing event on May Day.
Thirty-three girls, aged five to 10, performed a series of dances at Union Mills Methodist Church, including Hunt the Wren and Plaiting, which they had been practising for three weeks.
Brownie guide Alison Gawne and Rainbow guide Kirsty Cassidy, who are sisters, have been running the celebration for more than 25 years.
Alison said: ’Seeing the girls pulling it off, especially the Brownies who can find it quite technical, is great to see and it’s nice to have a community event put on.’
Poppy Bezance was crowned Flower Princess and Kelly Domingo was this year’s May Queen. Karen Walker, island commissioner of Girlguiding, performed the crowning.
