Manx FX Limited is celebrating its fifth anniversary and looking forward to the future with new additions to the team.
The company, which provides foreign exchange, currency management and alternative banking ’solutions’ for businesses and individuals, was launched in 2014.
While relatively young, it belongs to Manx Financial Group.
Manx FX also recently announced the appointment of a new managing director, May Hooper.
Mrs Hooper brings to her role more than 30 years’ experience in the offshore finance industry.
As a senior financial institutions relationship manager, she set up corporate foreign exchange desks at Anglo Irish Bank International and at Lloyds Bank International.
She also holds the ACI dealing certificate and diploma qualifications.
Mrs Hooper, who was initially recruited as group treasurer, said: ’Becoming managing director of Manx FX Limited is an exciting opportunity, and I look forward to the possibilities and challenges ahead.
’It’s wonderful to work for an organisation that recognises and rewards staff for their efforts; in the relatively short time I have been with Manx Financial Group, I have experienced first-hand the strong team culture that exists here’.
Mrs Hooper’s appointment is the third in under a year. Last July, David Shimmin became business development manager.
Mr Shimmin’s 13 years of banking experience have given him an appreciation of the client experience of opening accounts and processing payments and FX transactions.
Client relationship manager Katie Skelton joined the team last autumn.
Prior to this, Miss Skelton, who has a degree in business management, worked for local corporate service providers.
Miss Skelton now looks after the daily needs of the company’s clients.
She said: ’Our team put service at the heart of everything we do, making client relationships our priority at all times.
’On our fifth anniversary, we are all excited about the future of Manx FX and what we can achieve together.’
