A young finance sector worker has had what her bosses describe as ‘incredible’ success in exams.
Maisie Short, who works in Ocorian’s office in Athol Street, Douglas, achieved a distinction in her STEP examinations and has also been recognised as the top-performing STEP employee at her branch, for obtaining the STEP advanced certificate in principles of international taxation, anti money laundering and compliance.
Ocorian, which provides services to financial institutions to companies and high-net worth people (the super rich) and has branches around the world, said that her achievement serves as an ‘excellent example’ of Ocorian’s commitment to investing in its people.
Maisie, senior trust and company administrator, said: ‘Receiving a distinction in STEP represents my ambition and commitment to studying and my continued professional development.
‘I continuously strive to fulfil my goals, and being awarded with a distinction has demonstrated that my hard work and resilience have paid off.
‘I am very grateful to my colleagues at Ocorian who helped to motivate me throughout my studies, and who provided me with a wealth of knowledge when I needed it.’
Ella Pinnock, trust director at Ocorian, said: ‘We are very proud of Maisie’s incredible accomplishment in her STEP examinations, and we are pleased to have Maisie as a part of our team, demonstrating the quality of service we deliver to our clients.
‘Our focus on investing in our people remains firm, and we are very excited to see what Maisie achieves in the future.’
The STEP examinations are recognised by employers worldwide as evidence of specialist knowledge and skills, enhancing your employability and career progression.
Step once stood for the Shell Technology Enterprise Programme but, even though the oil company no longer sponsors it, organisers like the acronym so much they’ve stuck with it.
