The memory of island entrepreneur Stuart Baggs continues to live on five years after his untimely death.
Mr Baggs was known to millions of viewers for his unforgettable performances on the BBC series The Apprentice.
A new six-part series of programmes called The Apprentice Best Bits is starting on BBC 1 tonight (Thursday).
The opening instalment is all about the show’s most memorable candidates and some of this week’s TV listing publications have pointed to Mr Baggs being one of them.
The 27 year old appeared in series six of The Apprentice in 2010 and was an instant hit with viewers and although he did not win the show he became famous for a string of memorable one-liners.
The semi-finalist styled himself as ’Stuart Baggs the Brand’ and quickly became known for quotes such as: ’Everything I touch turns to sold’ and ’I’m not a one-trick pony, I’m not a 10-trick pony. I’ve got a whole field of ponies, waiting to literally run towards this [job]’ - to the show’s boss Lord Sugar.
The woman who is now telecommunications company BlueWave’s managing director, the job previously held by Mr Baggs, said people often still refer to her popular predecessor.
Shelley Langan-Newton said she aims to continue the vision for the island company that the young entrepreneur had.
She said his ’passion and drive to build BlueWave was inspiring’.
Tragically Mr Baggs’s life was cut short when he was found dead at his Douglas home in July 2015, shortly after launching a new product with the communications provider. He died of ’natural causes’ after an asthma attack.
Mrs Langton-Newton said: ’His memory will always live on.’
The Apprentice Best Bits starts tonight on BBC1 at 9pm
