LMS Partners, one of the island’s investments and retirement planning businesses, has appointed Kathy Mitchell as a director.
LMS Partners began trading just over two years shortly after being formed by Steve Locking, Christina Skelly, and Mrs Mitchell.
After its first two years the business currently has assets under advice totalling £65million.
Mrs Mitchell’s appointment as director follows her recent success in attaining the Level six Chartered Institute For Securities and Investment diploma in investment compliance.
Steve Locking, managing director, said: ‘Kathy has worked in varied banking and financial advice roles, and the 30 years’ experience in the finance sector has given her the ideal platform to bring valuable experience and efficiency to this role.
‘Kathy has been instrumental from day one in the setting up of the business and has worked tirelessly over the last two years ensuring the business and its processes are robust and structured.
‘Christina, Kathy, and I have worked together for over eight years, it is invaluable to work side by side with a team who you have 100% confidence in and respect for.’
LMS Partners recently decided to sponsor Western Vikings Rugby Union Football Club for the next three seasons.
Mrs Mitchell has a very personal connection to the club with her son James having been part of their playing structure since he was five years old.
He is now part of the U14 team which recently reached the 2019 Cheshire Plate semi-final.
The club, based in Peel, is affiliated to the Manx Rugby Football Union, Cheshire Rugby Football Union, and in turn the English Rugby Football Union.
All ages are represented from aged five to the senior team.
Mr Locking said: ‘Everyone at Western Vikings is committed to supporting the sport’s core traditions of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship – and these are values that we share at LMS Partners.’
Chris Horton, Western Vikings Club secretary, said: ‘We are very pleased that LMS Partners support our vision for our future development, and have decided to get involved.
‘Thank you to everyone involved in arranging this agreement, and we look forward to a productive partnership with all our sponsors for the forthcoming seasons.’
