One of the island’s largest financial sector companies has announced it is rebranding to Quilter International.

Chief executive Peter Kenny says the name change from Old Mutual International represents an exciting new chapter in a success story which began in the Isle of Man in 1984.

A spokesman said: ’There are just over 400 employees here on the island - there are no changes in personnel and no job losses as a result of the rebrand.’

Advisers and clients have already been informed about the rebrand and the new Quilter International branding will be seen in association with community groups and initiatives that the business supports.

Peter Kenny, chief executive officer of Quilter International, said: ’Our rebrand to Quilter International is a natural next step in our journey and a further opportunity to harness the strength of the Quilter brand.’

Michelle Andrews, chief marketing officer, Quilter, said: ’The Quilter brand already has substantial heritage in the international markets thanks to Quilter Cheviot.

’And now with the addition of Quilter International, we are able to further raise the profile of the value of advice and the benefit of wealth management in the international cross-border markets.’

Old Mutual International has been the main sponsor of Douglas RUFC since 2015 and the rugby union club’s Port-e-Chee ground near the Quarterbridge now has Quilter International branded signs and banners.

The club’s 1st XV will make their home debut wearing Quilter International branded kit in their match against the Vale of Lune on March 7.

Quilter International employees will also continue with a three-year fundraising campaign (which began in 2019) to support the Young Carers Project, run by Crossroads charity.

The rebrand from Old Mutual International follows the

renaming of other companies within the Quilter Group, including Intrinsic to Quilter Financial Planning in 2019 and the Charles Derby Group to Quilter Financial Advisers last month.

The rebranding is a result of Quilter plc separating from Old Mutual plc in June, 2018 and listing separately on the London and Johannesburg stock exchanges.

The spokesman said Quilter International will continue to operate in multiple global markets from its headquarters at King Edward Bay House in Onchan, offering financial planning advice to expatriates and local investors across the world including Asia, Europe, Middle East, Latin America and the UK.

Imogen Bould, aged nine, won a competition organised by Old Mutual International as part of celebrations for the business being renamed Quilter International.

It was open to children under 16 who are relatives of employees based in the Isle of Man.

Jerseys based on Imogen’s winning design will be worn by one of the teams taking part in the Quilter International Junior Rugby Festival at Douglas RUFC’s ground on March 28 and 29.

Any funds raised during the junior festival weekend will be donated to Crossroads which the business is supporting as part of a three-year project to raise funds for the charity’s Young Carers Project on the island.

Funds for Crossroads will also be raised from the sale of tickets in a draw to win an adult size jersey featuring Imogen’s design.
