Law firm Mann Benham Advocates Limited has added two experienced professionals to its property law department.
Director Carly Stratton said: ’Property law has always been one of the core components of our business.
’By appointing another Manx advocate, Marie Ashworth, and experienced conveyancer Jeanette Craster, Mann Benham Advocates Limited is showing its confidence in this market sector.
’The domestic market is flourishing and we’re also seeing strong movement in commercial leases and sales, so we’re delighted that Marie and Jeannette, with their wealth of experience and local knowledge, have joined the team.’
Marie Ashworth was called to the Manx Bar in 1991.
She said: ’As a qualified Manx advocate I’m able to liaise directly with mortgage lenders, which is a real asset to any conveyancing team, and makes the whole process smooth and efficient.
’And when it comes to commercial property you often have companies buying and selling, or signing leases, so you need to be sure that the person signing has the authority to do so.
’That’s just part of my role, but one which is vitally important to avoid even tiny slipups which could cause problems in the future.’
Senior conveyancer Thomas Harmstone is excited to be working with new team members Marie and Jeanette:
He said: ’Commercial conveyancing is often seen as less stressful than buying or selling your home but, believe me, it can be just as time-sensitive and often, when you’re dealing with leases, more complicated.’
Carly Stratton said: ’We pride ourselves on our approachability.’
