Technology business plan.com is set to open the doors to its ‘super headquarters’ at Celtic House in Victoria Street, Douglas later this year.
The business, which has been trading since 2014, is currently based on the second floor of IOMA House in Hope Street.
Around 90 people will work at the new base and a spokesman said: ‘From basement to rooftop the building puts its employees front and centre, with futuristic and high tech design, alongside natural materials and relaxed meeting spaces to complement its work hard, play hard culture.’
The company was ranked second place in this month’s 22nd annual Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100.
It is a league table of Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing profits, measured from three years of compound growth.
This latest accolade follows previous success in 2018 when the company ranked first in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 league table, making it one of only two companies to ever secure a top-three ranking in both the Sunday Times Profit Track and Tech Track tables.
‘This year’s Covid-19 special edition recognises the impressive past performance of the featured companies, their contribution to the economy and their responses to the pandemic. For plan.com this includes the provision of connectivity to enable home learning for underprivileged children across 75 schools, while it’s my.plan platform has supported remote working for thousands of UK companies.
‘It’s impressive performance eclipsed the top 100 average profit growth by 65% while also being one of 50 companies to have continued recruitment during the period.’
Neil Kelly, chief financial officer at plan.com, said: ‘Profit Track 100 is a very prestigious accolade, sought after by some of the UK’s most successful and aspiring companies. Past recognitions include well-known brands such as Dyson, Astin Martin, Pets at Home and Gym Shark to name just a few! To feature alongside this peer group is a privilege and confirmation that our industry-leading team, business model and technology continues to thrive.’
He added: ‘We’re extremely proud of the success and growth we’ve achieved. Winning the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 in 2018 was a phenomenal achievement for a start-up business. To be recognised with another top placement three years on is a true testament to the continuing hard work and dedication of our team.’
More recently the business revamped its employee performance and reward system, which aligns its business plan with the career aspirations of its people to give them a clear progression and reward framework.
During the pandemic this has included a weekly peer nominated ‘heroes’ initiative that saw some of the company’s leading talent recognised for going above and beyond.
This month seven lucky winners were rewarded with a once-in-a-lifetime, all expenses paid trip to a destination of their choice, with locations including New York and Dubai.
