Tim Boles has been appointed the president of the CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment) Isle of Man branch committee.
Mr Boles, managing director of Equilibrium Pensions Ltd of North Quay, Douglas, takes over from Paul Kneen from Pacific Fund Systems Europe Ltd, who held the position for the previous two years.
Mr Boles was previously managing director of Simcocks Pensions Limited, which he set up with Simcocks Advocates Limited.
He previously worked in the City of London for more than 10 years.
This came after his commission into the Blues and Royals (household cavalry regiment of the British Army) in 1978.
He served with the Blues and Royals for about nine years. He was posted to various locations and was a captain from the age of 22.
Mr Boles said: ‘I am honoured to be taking up the role of president of CISI (Isle of Man branch).
‘My predecessor Paul created an environment of useful and engaging study via regular CPD (continuing professional development) which I will continue to build
upon.
‘I note that the Isle of Man leads the way across the regions in terms of responses and take-up of regular CISI CPD events.
‘We are also launching an innovative schools programme of GCSEs and A levels in financial studies together with The London Institute of Banking and Finance (LBIF) across the island.’
Jim Winter, CISI head of UK Business, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Tim as our new Isle of Man branch president and would like to thank Paul for his leadership and dedication throughout the past two years with the branch.
‘We look forward to supporting Tim with his plans for the committee in his new role.’
