A newly recruited employee of Loganair is celebrating after passing her induction into the airline which has recently started the Isle of Man to London City air route.

Mercedesz Szas, from Douglas, is one of four cabin crew who were employed by previous operator, Eastern Airways, with Loganair also planning to create another two roles.

Additionally, the airline has transferred seven pilots from Eastern, who will each undertake a month-long training course to fly with the Scottish carrier.

With two open vacancies, the airline is keen to hear from anyone looking for a job with a difference, delivering exceptional customer care at 25 thousand feet.

Loganair will provide full training and is open to applicants who may be considering a career change.

Mercedesz is pictured in front of a Saab 2000 aircraft freshly liveried in Poppyscotland and Royal British Legion logos.

The carrier has teamed up with Poppyscotland and The Royal British Legion to mark the end of the four-year WW1 centenary and the approaching 100th anniversary of the end of The Great War.

The move comes to raise the profile of the important services and support that both Poppyscotland and The Royal British Legion provide to service men and women, veterans and their families in times of need.

The Saab 2000 aircraft has a logo from each organisation printed onto each side of its 3m tail-fin, and will primarily be operating the Isle of Man – London City route.

Maurice Boyle, Loganair’s director of engineering said: ‘Congratulations to Mercedesz for all the hard work she has undertaken and welcome to the Loganair family.

‘Being part of our cabin crew operation is a fantastic role and I’m sure she’ll thoroughly enjoy being part of the team.

‘We’ve placed a focus on transferring over the former flying crew from the former operator and their professionalism and commitment has been outstanding.

‘With two more roles still to be filled, I am looking forward to meeting the new recruits.’

Loganair is operating flights between London City airport and the Isle of Man on behalf of British Airways through a wet lease agreement.

The route is being served by a 50-seater Saab 2000 aircraft

The airline has had a business relationship with British Airways dating back over 25 years. To apply for a cabin crew job visit loganair.co.uk/about-2-2/careers/
