Capital International Group has been awarded International Business of the Year at the Isle of Man Newspapers’ Awards For Excellence tonight.
Chief executive officer Greg Ellison went on stage at the Villa Marina to collect The Claremont Award for The International Business of the Year.
The judges said the company has ‘a clear international strategy from a company that cares about its communities and staff.’
CIG was founded in 1996 with the aim of bringing technology and service excellence to the investment sector on the Isle of Man.
The Group now has 145 employees and more than $4bn in assets under administration.
In 2014 the Group opened an office in Cape Town and its success in South Africa has led to a second office being opened this year in Johannesburg.
The South African offices now have 27 employees and generate 36% of the Group’s new platform business.
In August this year the Group was given the first ever class 1(2) provisional banking licence and is working towards opening the island’s first digital-only corporate bank in 2020.
From the foundations set in 1996, Capital International continues to build a successful, international Group true to its values of innovation, integrity and excellence.
