Deborah Gooding has won the Manx Music Festival’s top singing prize - 100 years after it was first awarded.

She has won the Cleveland Medal.

The mezzo-soprano won a 'thrilling' final at the VillaGaiety to edge out baritones Neil Taverner and Matthew Quinn, bass singer Graham Crowe and sopranos Karen Elliott and Ruth Tickle.

Her victory came a century after Allan Quirk became the first recipient in 1923.
