Domicilium is sponsoring the award for Nurturing our Arts, Culture and Heritage at this year’s Isle of Man Newspapers’ Awards for Excellence.

’We are delighted to be sponsoring an award that recognises the arts and culture,’ says David Artus, senior account manager at Domicilium.

He went on: ’Domicilium is perhaps better known for supporting science and technical innovation. However, being an island based company we recognise the importance of the arts for a number of reasons.’

David himself is no stranger to the arts, having played many lead roles in Gaiety shows such as Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables.

He is also well known for producing, writing and directing many Gaiety Pantomimes.

Domicilium is the oldest and most experienced internet service provider (ISP) in the Isle of Man, and globally recognised in many sectors for being a leader in its field, namely hosting, networks and peripheral services.

The company has an unparalleled track record of not only innovation in new sectors but also providing infrastructure and support to the largest and most established sectors in the world.

Its 20,000 sq/ft next generation datacentre here in the island is an award-winning facility that is home to the majority of the Isle of Man’s egaming licence holders.

David says: ’Attracting new companies to the Isle of Man has been the key to Domicilium’s success, especially in the online gaming sector.

’For a company to consider a move to the Isle of Man it must decide that it is a great place for its most important asset, which is not its data but its people. If a company is to be successful in the long term then the work life balance for its staff is massively important.

’No one knows this more than Domicilium, being 27 years old this year, with many of its staff having served well over 15 years.

’For a customer that is very important because it means we have the staff continuity to develop a deep understanding of each client’s history and a relationship that allows us to understand how we can help our customers in the future.’

Domicilium has sponsored a number of theatre productions that David has been involved in, including pantomimes and the sell-out show ’The Full Monty’.

They have also sponsored the Isle of Man Blues Festival for many years, their chief executive officer Andy Swearman being a keen blues guitarist.

David, pictured above, says: ’Although an international company, Domicilium is proud to be headquartered in the Isle of Man, supporting the hosting and network needs of the islands largest banks, law firms, shipping companies and many others.

’Being part of the community is very important for us, not only for the wellbeing of our staff and customers, but also having an Isle of Man arts and culture message is a very powerful sales tool when trying to entice the global market to relocate.

’We would like to wish all the finalists the very best of luck.’
