Such is the attraction of Duke Video’s first attempt at a TT Calendar, that the A3-size full-colour production is well on its way to being a total sell-out.
The striking images, all from the 2017 TT, include James Hillier’s save of the century at Ballagarey (caught by Tracey Killey of Peel) and a startling shot of Josh Brookes landing the all-silver Norton at Ballaugh Bridge (Jack Corry). The bike’s suspension is compressed so much the chain can be seen jumping off the rear sprocket.
Other images of note are Ian Hutchinson backing his Tyco BMW into the left-hander at Kate’s Cottage (Stuart Baker), John Holden and local passenger Lee Cain at East Mountain Gate (Dave Kneen), Michael Dunlop in full flight at Rhencullen (Gavan Caldwell) and the Lawrance brothers having a close shave at Ballaugh (Paul Phillips/David Traynor).
The calendar year is completed by images of Michal Dokoupil exiting Sulby Bridge (Steve McDonald), Daley Mathison at Glen Vine (Will Broadhead), the Birchall brothers at Tower Bends (Stephen Davison) and two further images of Michael Dunlop.
The 2018 TT wall calendar is expected to sell out within the next week or so, but Duke’s have also produced a 2018 Road Racers calendar, containing a selection of images from road race events throughout Ireland, Isle of Man and mainland Europe.
Also of interest locally is an Isle of Man from the Air calendar.
We will be looking at the latter two calendars a little more closely in forthcoming issues of the Examiner and sister paper Manx Independent, when free editions of each will be on offer.
