Details on fresh intakes and overall numbers in the island’s schools are not likely to be released before the end of the month.
Clare Barber (Douglas East) had tabled a written Tynwald question to Education Minister Dr Alex Allinson asking for a breakdown of reception class numbers for the 2020/21 school year when it starts in September and what the total pupil numbers will be for each primary and secondary school - plus what the capacity levels are in those schools.
But Dr Allinson revealed he had been granted a two-week extension to provide the reply - due on Tuesday this week - by President of Tynwald Steve Rodan.
School occupancy levels and catchment areas have been a source of contention in recent years, particularly in some parts of Douglas.
