International concert artists Philippa Mo (violin) and Albert Lau (piano) are the next performers for Ramsey Music Society.
The duo will perform a programme including music by Elgar, Respighi, Chopin and Debussy at Ramsey Grammar School’s West Building on Monday next week (July 10).
Philippa studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London and at the Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing.
She now performs extensively as a chamber musician and has given performances and live broadcasts worldwide including Munich, Mongolia’s capital Ulaan Batar, and the Lincoln Centre, New York.
Recent solo tours have taken her to Australia, Brazil and China. She has released critically acclaimed recordings for the NMC, Dutton and Nimbus labels. She was awarded Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) in 2015.
Philippa plays a violin by Julius Cesare Gigli dating back to 1786.
Albert is a Steinway artist appointed in 2022. He was born in Hong Kong and performs internationally as a solo pianist and chamber musician.
Albert began classical piano training at the age of seven. He gained a Bachelor of Music degree with high distinction at Indiana University, USA, before studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London where he obtained a Master of Music degree with distinction.
Albert has received numerous prestigious music awards from the Royal Academy of Music in London, including the Lloyd Hartley prize for best Masters performance.
The concert starts at 7.30pm. Entry is £12, including refreshments. It’s free for students and children.
