A French remake of a popular film shot in the Isle of Man has flopped at the box office.
‘À l'ancienne’, a new adaptation of ‘Waking Ned’ which was filmed in the island in 1998, was released back in September last year.
The original film follows the story of Ned Devine, the lucky winner of the national lottery who dies from shock as a result of his win.
The film was a huge success at the box office, earning over $50 million from a $3 million budget.
However, the French remake has only earned £1.3 million and had a budget of £5.2 million.
The International Movie Database (IMDB) has also rated the new film 4.4, compared to the 7.3 rating given to the original.
