Some Manx football clubs have shown their support for the Samaritans by promoting their services to players and fans.

Six clubs have put up signage at football grounds.

Samaritans volunteers give judgement-free support, 24 hours a day, seven days a week to ensure there is always someone there to speak to if you are at a low point or need help when going through a tough time.

Gill Porter, director of Samaritans Isle of Man, said: ’A recent report produced by Samaritans found that young men were at the highest risk of struggling with their mental health and sadly committing suicide.

’It’s so important to promote our vital services to reduce this statistic and we’re delighted that the football grounds have agreed to work with us. A huge thank you must go to all the clubs.

’If anyone is struggling to cope, we are here around the clock to help. There are so many ways to get in touch.

’You can reach us for free by calling 116 123, via email [email protected] or by calling into our Douglas branch on Victoria Place, Douglas.
