Talented organist Nicholas Morris will perform in a concert at St George’s Church, Douglas.

The concert, promoted by the Isle of Man Organists’ Association, takes place tomorrow (Saturday) at 3pm.

Mr Morris is the assistant director of music at St George’s, in Hanover Square, London, and has performed extensively as a soloist in the UK and further afield.

His involvement in music began when he was a chorister at Westminster Abbey, and music scholar at Uppingham School. From there, he completed a music degree at Cambridge, where he was organ scholar at Queen’s College.

He then took up posts as assistant organist at Birmingham Cathedral and Clare College Cambridge.

Mr Morris has performed in Norway, the United States and Germany.

UK recital venues have included Westminster Abbey, Birmingham Town Hall, and the Cathedrals of St Paul’s, Westminster, Southwark, Wells, Ely and Truro.

Mr Morris has a particular interest in new music, and appeared as solo recitalist in the 2014 London Festival of Contemporary Church music.

He is also a harpsichord player, recently appearing as director and harpsichord soloist in Bach’s Fifth Brandenburg Concerto.

St George’s Church is just above Athol Street, in Douglas. Parking is available around the church, or in the streets close by.

Admission to the concert is free.
