Georgie Revill describes herself as ’living the dream in beautiful Bride’, and is married to Mike with two grown-up children, Ollie, 26 and Lydia, who is 24.

Georgie is the founder and chairman of the charity SKILS - Skills for Independent Living Scheme, which promotes independence and education for the learning disabled on the Isle of Man.

Following on from her background in Corporate services, Georgie opened the Cook Shack Cookery School, based at her home in Bride.

She is also the organiser of the upcoming MannKind Festival 2018, which takes place on Sunday, July 15, at the Silly Moos campsite, Lezayre, and has been created especially for those with learning and physical disabilities and their carers.

What is your idea of a perfect meal?

Thai food, something that is light, refreshing and fragrant.

What is your favourite way to relax?

Gardening or playing tennis.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Building the Cook Shack Cookery School. I had a dream and a mission, both of which are being accomplished.

Do you have any pets?

One ’human’ cat, Herman. What is your greatest achievement?

The first is establishing the charity SKILS which has helped many students with learning differences obtain a further education off Island and the second is creating The Cook Shack from scratch. It’s been a labour of love where people gather, meet, eat, learn and enjoy each other’s company. I love connecting people.

What is your favourite time of the year?

Every day is a blessing. We lived in the Caymen Islands for 10 years. Living in a hot climate all year long really makes you appreciate the seasons.

What is the first job you ever had?

Picking strawberries in Kent. Even though I have always been vertically challenged, it was backbreaking work.

Do you have any irrational fears?

Heights.

What is your worst habit?

I always seem to have so many projects on the go at once. What is your favourite book?

The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton. It taught me never to have regrets.

What is your favourite TV programme?

I don’t watch any TV at all.

What is your favourite band/artist at the moment?

Matt Kelly. He will be playing at MannKind Festival!

What is your favourite part of the Isle of Man?

The glorious, untouched Ayres.

What is the last show/band that you saw live?

Elton John.

If time/money were no object, what would be your perfect day?

My perfect day is spent in The Cook Shack. The views are unreal and the company is always delightful.

Choose three people, dead or alive, to invite to dinner?

Tennis champion Roger Federer, Gautama Buddha, who is a spiritual leader of enlightenment and wisdom and Gustav Mahler, an Austro-Bohemian late-Romantic composer who writes very moving classical music.
