Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation is able to provide heart screenings at Noble’s Hospital again.
The charity was unable to hold screenings for the past two years because of the pandemic.
The team described themselves as ’uncontrollably excited’ to announce the screening dates - which were quickly fully booked.
This set of screenings will take place at the hospital on April 23 and 24.
Paula Lunt, who set up Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation in memory of her son, who died from a undiagnosed heart defect in April 2005, said she was ’so glad’ the screenings were up and running once more.
She said: ’It’s just a big weight off my shoulders. I’m devastated that it’s not happened the last couple of years.’
The screenings are facilitated by Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), and they are open for anyone aged 14 to 35.
The charity said it is ’extremely grateful to the hospital for allowing us to use their facilities once more’.
Anyone booked on two years ago, whose appointments were cancelled because of the pandemic, received an email giving them the opportunity to book again before the appointments opened to the general public.
While the all the places for the April dates are now gone, Mrs Lunt confirmed that there will be more screenings in the island in September.
