Thursday evening’s TT qualifying session has been cancelled because of an earlier crash on the Mountain Road.

TT organisers released a brief statement at 5pm saying: ‘Due to a road traffic collision that occurred on the Mountain Course, the clerk of the course Gary Thompson has confirmed that this evening's qualifying session is now cancelled to allow the appropriate services to manage the incident.

‘An updated schedule will follow shortly.’

Police shut the section between Ramsey Hairpin and the Bungalow earlier this afternoon at 1.50pm, stating the road would be closed for a ‘significant period of time’.

Organisers made the decision earlier today to make use of Friday evening’s contingency qualifying session after a mixed bag of weather this week that saw Tuesday evening’s session also cancelled.
