One of the finest pianists in the UK is to appear on the Isle of Man this weekend.
The Neil Angilley trio are set to play at the Peel Centenary Centre this coming Saturday, December 14 from 7.30pm.
The group are led by the charismatic and multi-talented pianist, Neil Angilley, who is a master of many different styles of piano playing.
The Cornwall-born musician is joined by Italian bandmates Davide Mantovani, on bass and vocals and drummer Davide Giovannini, who has formerly played with artists such as Paul McCartney and Steve Winwood.
Together they recently released their major new work ’The Lake District’, which is an eclectic fusion of jazz and classical music, written over nine parts and dedicated to the area of natural beauty.
Their first album ’Havana Club’, released in 2007, was described as ’nothing short of spectacular, and also described Neil as ’one the UK’s best-kept secrets in the jazz world’.
Away from the trio, Neil is the musical director for the international violinist Vanessa Mae, and has recorded and performed with the likes of Ben E.King, James Galway, Lisa Stansfield, Shirley Bassey, Michael Ball and the Gypsy Kings, along with many top names from the world of Latin jazz fusion.
