The Manx Grand Prix’s Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson has issued a further one-hour delay to roads closing around the Mountain Course.

Roads were originally meant to shut at 9.30am for today’s qualifying sessions, but wet weather overnight plus strong winds this morning saw this push backed to 11.30am.

We roads still drying, and the wind decreasing, a further hour delay has been announced.

All roads around the course will now close at 12.30pm, but the Mountain Road from the Bungalow to the Creg-ny-Baa will be closed shortly for a short period while the Department for Infrastructure addresses drainage issues at the 32nd Milestone.

The week has been dogged by wet weather with competitors only getting out twice thus far on Sunday and Thursday afternoon. As a result organisers have had to use contingency sessions, including one planned for Sunday afternoon when there will be two races.
