Sleepwell Hotels Ltd has recently completed an upgrade of their premium rooms at the Chesterhouse Hotel in Douglas, featuring the installation of 30 premium mattresses and beds from Mattress Man, a fast-growing local business that’s quickly making its mark in the retail industry.

Though Mattress Man has been in business for less than a year, the company is already making waves.

They recently launched their own custom-designed mattress, and in an effort to reduce waste, they donate the gently used mattresses they usually dispose of, to island charities like Crossroads Care and Hospice ensuring they stay out of landfills.

Aligned with their eco-friendly approach, Mattress Man has introduced a 100% recycled mattress from Reborn, made from refurbished mattresses.

Additionally, they offer recycled divan beds. They reuse timber from old divan bases that were headed for landfills, transforming them into new beds for UK prisons — helping the environment and rebuilding lives.

Lucy Turner, owner of Mattress Man, reflected on the company’s rapid growth. ‘It’s been an incredible journey. We’re lucky to be based on such a beautiful island where we’ve received so much support from customers and local businesses.’

Lucy also highlighted their expanding clientele, which includes, The Claremont Hotel, The Rutland Hotel, Trail Lodge, The Chesterhouse, Sunnydale Care Home, as well as various AirBnBs, guesthouses, hostels and charities.

The business has even expanded into the pet market, supplying luxury pet beds for Catnap Inn's new cattery.

‘We are truly humbled to be part of the Isle of Man community,’ Turner added.

‘Our goal is to continue offering quality beds, mattresses, and furniture at affordable prices, always with a smile.’

As Mattress Man continues to grow and build strong ties within the community, their innovative products and sustainable practices are resonating with both businesses and residents across the island.
