A memorial service is being held for the families of people lost in the Brig Lily shipwreck in Port St Mary.
The service takes place on Sunday, September 10 at 10am in the garden of remembrance, and the commissioners also plan to dedicate a plaque to those who died.
The Brig Lily exploded in December 1852 and killed 29 men from the village who were attempting to save it from sinking.
A civic service will be held at Mount Tabor at 10:30am after the memorial.
