A motorist had to be rescued after their vehicle ended up on its roof after an accident last night in St Mark's.

Fire and rescue crews from Castletown Station stabilised the vehicle.

Then they worked with ambulance staff to extricate the casualty employing space creation techniques, using battery operated hydraulic cutting equipment.

The motorist's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
