Deloitte has welcomed nine new recruits to its Douglas office this year with three graduates, three industrial placements and three BrightStart apprentices.
This news follows Deloitte UK’s announcement this month of its plans to hire more than 6,000 new employees into the firm’s UK audit and assurance practice over the next five years.
The trainees’ varied academic backgrounds reflect Deloitte’s diverse approach to recruitment and new members of staff are joining from the Isle of Man, the UK and further afield.
Joining the Isle of Man audit and assurance team are graduates Georgy Josi, who studied BA accounting and management at Kent University; Manahil Hussain, who studied computer science at Goldsmith University; and Skyler Cheng, who studied international business at Leeds University.
Deloitte’s BrightStart programme offers young individuals the opportunity to start their professional career without spending three years at university.
Isle of Man joiners for the Audit Bright-Start programme are Hamza Liaqat, who studied maths, economics and science at Holmer Green Senior School; Natalie Sewell who studied agriculture, health and social care and core maths at Ramsey Grammar School; and Siddhant Soni, who studied maths, further maths and business studies at Steyning Grammar School.
Joining Deloitte on an industrial placement this year are Jamie Casson, who studied economics, maths and product design at Queen Elizabeth II High School; Robert Buxton, who studied business studies, economics and global perspective at Ramsey Grammar School; and Matthew Radcliffe, who studied business studies, economics and geography at Ramsey Grammar School.
Director at Deloitte, Laura O’Sullivan Spiers, said: ‘We are delighted to see continued growth within the company, and we are confident our new additions will gain the experience and knowledge they need as they begin their career here at Deloitte.
‘Our Bright-Start scheme is attracting more young people than ever before. It’s an opportunity to earn while you learn and dive straight into an exciting career. Students can see the advantages of gaining professional, degree-level qualifications whilst helping to solve some of our client’s most complex problems right from the start.
‘We are pleased to welcome our new recruits and we look forward to watching them reach their full potential within their new roles.’
