A new public bike shelter may be built at a tram station.
The Department of Infrastructure has submitted a planning application for the new shelter at the Manx Electric Railway station, on Albert Street, Ramsey.
This comes after the news that the tram station will be operational for the first time in several years.
The shelter will be able to hold 10 bicycles at any one time.
The application reads: ‘The cycle shelter is part of a local travel hub to aid the active travel policy.’
The active travel policy is a framework the government is using to get people to use more active modes of transport in their lives, such as walking or cycling.
The bike shelter application is under consideration by the planning committee.
