The former Summerland site is set to be the site of a compound for vehicles used for the promenade regeneration works.
A bid has been submitted by the Department of Infrastructure for the site to be used for up to 100 weeks while work is completed.
The site, which will also be used for storing materials will be surrounded by a 1.8-metre high hoarding with vehicle access via the current access for the Manx Electric Railway sheds on King Edward Road.
The plan includes five portable cabins, intended to be used by up to 15 staff a day.
