Police are investigating an act of criminal damage in the south of the island.
Yesterday between 1pm and 5.30pm, someone cut a boundary fence bordering a field and the road on the Tosaby Road, St Mark’s.
A police spokesman said: ’It was a clear act of mindless criminal damage which could of resulted in livestock including lambs getting on to the road and causing a danger to road users, on what can be a fast stretch of road.
;Thankfully the damage was discovered by the farmer before any livestock could escape but the matter has caused a great deal of frustration, unnecessary cost and undue pressure on what is a busy time of the year for the farming community.
’Should any person be found tampering with boundary fencing, which is likely to endanger members of the public and road users, they should expect to be dealt with robustly.’
