Infrastructure Minister Tim Baker has refused to give details of how much money his department spent during the lockdown.
He was given permission by President of Tynwald Steve Rodan to not give an answer to a question tabled by Julie Edge (Onchan).
In a written Tynwald question, Ms Edge wanted to know how much money was spent in each Department of Infrastructure division from an allocated budget and from the Treasury Covid-19 budget, broken down by contractor, work completed, value of untendered work and tendered work, plus the cost of DoI employee works and sub-contractor works.
She sought the figures to cover the time from March 15-June 30.
But Mr Baker (pictured), who succeeded Ray Harmer as minister in June, said: ’There is no part of this question which can be reasonably responded to without incurring a disproportionate cost to public funds by way of officers’ time.’
So, he said, the DoI obtained the approval of Mr Rodan to refuse to answer the question.
