Manx musicians have joined in with the ’Locked In The Dressing Room’ project, which has seen punk and rock groups from all over the UK lend their songs to a variety of compilation albums, put together to help struggling venues.
Half Naked Headline, Mad Daddy and Slow Decay have all donated tracks to the compilations which have been released over the past couple of months in support of individual venues.
This week, a special ’Locked In The Dressing Room’ album was released featuring many of the UK punk bands who have been brought over to the island by the Manx Punx, who would hold gigs to help fund bands and future concerts.
’Obviously we aren’t a venue but we have a few across the island that work with us,’ said Half Naked Headline singer Jenni Smith who helped organised the Manx involvement.
’The money raised from the Manx record will go into putting on Manx Punx events across the island and towards the Manx Punx bands themselves, to help us put on gigs, do recordings or help buy musical equipment.’
