One of the most-instantly recognisable faces in British comedy is heading to the Isle of Man next year.
Stand-up comedian Russell Howard is to bring his latest comedy tour, ’Respite’, to the Villa Marina on Sunday, September 13, 2020.
In a tour that will span the globe, performing shows in five continents, 24 countries and 51 cities, Russell will take a lengthy break from his TV work and return to the stage, where he says he feels he belongs.
’Respite’ sees the comedian trying, in his own words, to make sense of a world that’s spinning out of control and offer people a break from the horrors of the world.
He launched the tour in October with a sold out show, performed in front of 12,500 people, at the SSE Arena, Wembley, in London.
Russell is one of the best-selling acts in British stand-up comedy, and is probably best known for his TV work.
He hosts the hit TV show ’Russell Howard’s Good News’, on BBC 3, and was a mainstay of many TV panel shows, such as ’Mock the Week’, and has also appeared on ’Eight out of 10 cats’, ’Would I Lie To You’, Live at the Apollo, alongside many more.
He has also starred in many self-titled shows, such as ’Russell Howard Hour’, for Sky and ’Russell Howard and Mum: USA Road Trip’ for the American Comedy Central channel.
Tickets for the island show went on sale this week, and are priced at £31.
