Manx actor and singer Samantha Barks has announced the birth of her baby son.

His name is Rafael Richard Barks-Stoll, and was born on October 16.

The former Lonan resident shared the news on her Instagram account today and said her 'heart could burst with happiness'.

Celebrities and actors have since congratulated Samantha Barks and husband Alex Stoll on their news, namely comedian Alan Carr and Manx actor Joe Locke sending the pair good wishes on Instagram.

Mrs Barks and Alan Carr worked together on a brand-new, eight-part series called Mamma Mia, I have a dream. The ITV series is set to air on October 22.
