Standard Bank has been announced as Company of the Year at the 2019 Awards For Excellence.

Judges praised the company for being ‘an international bank with clear strategy that is also very much a part of the local community’.

Collecting the Browne Craine & Co award for The Company of the Year was collected by Standard Bank Isle of Man’s chief executive officer Chris Till (centre).

The announcement was made tonight (Thursday) at the Villa Marina in Douglas, as part of the Isle of Man Newspapers’ prestigious annual awards night that recognises talent across the island.

Although part of Africa’s largest banking group by assets, Standard Bank Offshore Group has operated in the Isle of Man for more than 25 years.

The bank continues to expand its operations in the island and is a ‘strong contributor’ to charitable initiatives here and abroad.

The company has grown year-on-year with business from Africa, Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

Standard Bank has said it is ‘committed to sustainable growth with a pledge to look beyond the financial outcome to create more value socially, economically and environmentally’.
