Tuesday evening’s Steam Packet sailings to and from Heysham have been cancelled because of forecast strong winds overnight.

The ferry operator said yesterday that the sailings were at risk of disruption because of adverse weather and confirmed late this afternoon that the scheduled 8.45pm Manxman sailing to Lancashire and the return crossing at 2.15am had been cancelled.

The service is expected to resume on Wednesday morning, with the 8.45am sailing from the island to Heysham.
