The Queen’s Pier Restoration Trust has been granted formal consent by Ramsey Commissioners to access the pier via the South Beach, during the course of restoration works and to close sections of the beach below the pier during the course of work.

The Trust has applied to the governemnt’s planning committee for permission to refurbish and repair the first three bays of the pier, including widening of the first bay and installation of toilet facilities within the gateway/entrance block.

Board member Juan McGuinness said: ’This is fantastic. We should give them all our support.’

There was no objection from the board.
