Southern 100 organisers have confirmed that Tuesday evening’s session will go ahead as planned despite the day’s wet weather.

A short statement from the club released just before 4.30pm said: ‘We are pleased to confirm that roads around the Colas Billown Circuit will be closing as planned at 6.05pm.’

Monday evening’s opening practice session was severely disrupted first by a red flag incident in the newcomers’ sighting laps and then by capacity issues at Noble’s Hospital.

As a result organisers have been forced to rejig Tuesday evening’s session, reducing the amount of laps in both the Peel Holdings Senior and the Mike Kerruish Plumbing and Heating Lightweight races which are scheduled to conclude this evening’s action.
