The Met Office has issued two weather warnings.
The first is a yellow one for ice.
The second is an amber one for coastal overtopping and harbour flooding this afternoon.
The forecast:
Cold start with the risk of ice over higher ground. Otherwise, mainly dry this morning with some sunshine. Strong to gale force west or southwest wind with gusts to 50-55mph. Showers increasing through this afternoon and evening and a top temperature of 7°C. Coastal overtopping and inner harbour flooding around the time of high tide (~1pm).
Overnight becoming dry with some clear spells as the wind starts to decrease. Minimum temperature 3°C.
Into tomorrow, fine and dry start with some sunshine. More cloud around in the afternoon with maybe the odd shower. Much lighter winds and a top temperature of 7°C.
On Saturday a wet start to the day, but then improving through the morning with some sunny spells. Further rain through the evening. Moderate to fresh southwest wind and a highest temperature of 8°C.
