The Secret Pizza Company paid tribute to Munich’s famous Oktoberfest on Saturday night with live music, steins brimming with beer and a Bavarian-themed pizza.

It was lederhosen and traditional drinking songs all the way at the sell-out event with oompah band Die Wandernden Biertrinker leading the singing and a Bavarian-themed meal.

Secret Pizza Company owner, Tom Rowe, said: ’We created a special Bavarian pizza that was topped with Manx mustard sausages smoked by the Cow & Pig Smokehouse, with sides of Ballaquinney mashed potato, Isle of Man Creamery cheddar cheeses and sauerkraut.’

Also on the menu were house-made Laxey flour pretzels served with a special mustard dip, Manx smoked sausage and pickles.

Beer is a vital element of Oktoberfest and customers were served steins of Bushy’s Norsemann lager with a selection of German beers also available.

It was the second of two Oktoberfest events held at the Secret Pizza, both of which sold out within hours after more than 5,000 people expressed an interest on Facebook.

They are now planning to do a special Christmas Bavarian event in December.
