The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping.

The forecast:

A dry and bright day today, with sunny spells and a strong southwest wind gusting to 45mph. Top temperature 8°C.

Thursday will be windy again, and cloudy with heavy rain developing during the afternoon. A strong south-southeast wind, with top temperatures around 10°C. The rain will clear in the evening as the wind swings southwest and decreases.

Friday will be bright with sunny spells and with the risk of a few scattered showers during the day. Highest temperatures around 7°C with a fresh westerly winds which will turn west or northwest later.
