Douglas welcome Birkenhead Park to Port-e-Chee this Saturday for a 1.45pm kick-off of the postponed November encounter that fell foul of cancelled flights.

Park are on a winning six-match run since losing at Penrith in December, while Douglas are on an upward curve as the fixture backlog unravels. Both sides suffered weather-related cancellations last week and Park’s last visit to Port-e-Chee produced a 22-17 thriller in November 2019 where Douglas were not quite at their impressive best and still came out ahead.

On the four occasions the sides have met in North One West, each have won their two home matches and lost away.

The back-row battle has always been the premium contest and Douglas selection will be from strength. Craig McGee, Niall Killey, Seth Waterworth, Wilf Kermode and Blake Snell are all in the running, while Oisin Foley-Gaffney and Miguel Costa are primed. TONY WILSON-SPRATT
