Ellan Vannin Native Pony Association held its AGM and prize presentation at the Grosvenor Country Inn,
Andreas recently.
Around 60 people were in attendance within the restaurant area, some enjoying a meal before formalities.
Chairperson Emma Kinrade opened proceedings, reflecting on the past year with EVNPA hosting three shows, including one with UK judges, before thanking Michelle and Vicki for the use of the Conrhenny facility.
There are three shows scheduled for 2023 on May 21, June 11 and July 9. The one in June will be a fun show with a more relaxed, informal occasion that will be held near Ballakelly Farm.
Kinrade also thanked Wendy, Catharine and Charlotte Barham who have retired from the committee, all of whom have given years of dedicated service. Wendy was one of the association’s founding members and they were each presented with a bouquet of flowers.
Three new committee members have joined, all providing a wealth of knowledge: Jennie Cryer, Jo Duggan and Charlotte Morgan-Jones, adding to the existing committee of Kinrade, Becca Walker and Emily Fleming.
EVNPA will host their other two events near the Ballacorey airstrip, with special thanks to the Isle of Man branch of the Pony Club for the use of its facility.
Kinrade also placed on record EVNPA’s success in its inaugural team debut at the Manx Horse Council team members showjumping challenge, thanking Jenny and the team of Barbara Eyres, Fiona Montgomery, Alisha Blower and Gracie Kewley.
EVNPA will be hoping to replicate this success at the arena eventing MHC team members challenge at Kennaa later on in the month.
The plan for 2023 is to encourage new members, increase participation and would like the club to be known for more than just horses, also for its camaraderie, friendship, shared passion for all things equestrian and support for other clubs.
It was then on to present the awards, with each winner receiving a hearty clap.
Kinrade rounded off proceedings by thanking new sponsor Zenith Industrial Products Ltd, Country Paving and Ornamental Ltd plus IoM Equine for continued support.
