The Manx Grand Prix’s newcomers race will take place today, Tuesday, after poor weather on Monday wreaked havoc with the day’s Festival of Motorcycling programme.
The shortened Junior and superbike classic tts eventually took place late on monday afternoon after wet weather and poor visibility dogged the mountain course during the morning.
As a result, the Newcomers’ race was put back from its original Monday teatime start to its new time of 12.15pm this afternoon.
Roads will close around the Mountain Course at 11.30am ahead of the four-lap race.
A two-lap qualifying session for MGP competitors competing later in the week will follow, with roads due to open again around 4.15pm.
The Manx Grand Prix continues tomorrow, wednesday, before the week’s final race day on friday.
Roads close at 9.30am tomorrow with the Mylchreests Junior race following 45 minutes later.
The Manx Grand Prix Supporters’ Club Lightweight and the concurrently run ultra-lightweight races start at 1.15pm.
The second Lightweight and Ultra-Lightweight contests of the week kick-off Friday’s programme at 10.15am, with the Festival’s race action coming to a conclusion with the four-lap Senior race at 1.15pm.
