The big games continue to come thick and fast in JCK Division Two, with more intriguing fixtures in store for this Saturday.
The pick of the bunch is arguably at Springfield Road where Pulrose United host Castletown in a match which pits two potential promotion rivals against each other. Paul Guiver’s Pully side have enjoyed a flying start to the 2017-18 season and currently lie third in the table, only one point behind joint leaders Foxdale and RYCOB despite their winning run being ended at Marown last time out.
Town, on the other hand, has seen their campaign falter in recent weeks as they have suffered successive defeats to Governor’s Athletic and Foxdale which leaves them down in seventh place, albeit with games in hand over most of the sides above them.
Gary Sansbury will know his southern side can ill afford too many more slip-ups if they are to challenge for promotion and honours this season, therefore a win against Pulrose could be just the catalyst they need, although the hosts will start as favourites.
Having ended Pulrose’s five-game winning run, Marown will be confident of continuing that momentum when they head north to take on Ayre United in Andreas.
The Tangerines have yet to really hit their stride this season but go into this match on the back of a win over Governor’s and will be eager to claim back-to-back wins for the first time this campaign.
Another close game could be in store at Scoill ree Gorree where joint leaders RYCOB take on a Union Mills team on a high after thrashing Michael Utd 8-2 last Saturday.
Douglas and District could clinch their second win of the season as they host bottom side Gymns, while Onchan welcome near-neighbours Governor’s Athletic and Malew visit Michael United at Balleira Road.
